Thanks to Bobbi for creating this link-up! I have done this in 2012 and 2014. I started writing this post for 2015 last year but I never finished it. I have started this years post early (before Christmas) so that I can hope to finish it before the link-up dies which is the story of my life with link-ups lately. I think for 2017 I should write this post as the year goes on..but that would be too easy lol
I don’t like to follow rules so I’m sure this blog post will have more than 12 photos but we’ll see how I manage.
JANUARY
In January the restaurant I work at was closed for 2 weeks for renovations. During this time I went down to Disney for a few days. But sadly I have NO PICTURES from this trip because I LOST my phone on Rock ‘N’ Rollercoaster. What’s even crazier is that they FOUND my shattered phone and mailed it to me.
FEBRUARY
In February Lent started and we got our #ashtag on.
Tom and I also had our first Valentine’s Day together. He spoiled me and got me Roses and Chocolates and took me out for dinner. It was the first Valentine’s Day I ever got a gift from a significant other so it meant a lot to me.
He knows I LOVE purple and all my gifts were purple.
For some reason, I also took a lot of photos of Milo. Probably because it was cold and I was inside/bored a lot. HA
MARCH
In March I turned 30!! EEK! We celebrated by going to the Melting Pot for fondue! I had always wanted to do that and since I was turning 30 I wanted to do something fancier. I also started Bullet Journaling and I’m still doing it which has been great in helping me keep up with everything.
APRIL
With April always comes my favorite festival. The Rhythm and Ribs festival. The food is always so good!
In April I also went to Disney. It was dapper day so people were all dressed up it made for entertaining people watching. It was also the Epcot Flower and Garden festival. I took the monorail just to take this awesome photograph.
MAY
Ben and Jerry’s downtown St. Augustine opened so we headed there. They painted a mural of the Ben and Jerry’s cows in St. Augustine which I thought was cool.
JUNE
June was pretty calm I went to an awesome free event at the MOSH museum! June was probably the BEST month of 2016 because I got ENGAGED!!
Right after I got engaged I left town to go to my cousins wedding. Half the people said I was going to take attention away from the bride and the other half said everyone was going to be excited for me. My cousin was super excited and told me to steal all her ideas (which we have done) ha!
While up in New York for the wedding we also went to the 911 Memorial that was both beautiful and incredibly sad at the same time. It was also really informative a lot of the stuff I learned I didn’t know so if you ever get to NYC make sure you go.
We also visited my Dads grave. It was the first time my sister had since she got married and probably since my grandma passed away. I made a little photo collage and stone to put at the grave. It was hard but we puddled through.
JULY
The Pokemon Go app hit the scene and my church put these awesome signs out since they are a poke stop.
AUGUST
I went on vacation to my old childhood stomping grounds of Ocean City, MD! I ate all the boardwalk food including world famous Fisher’s Popcorn and Thrasher’s fries. So good!
SEPTEMBER
In September Tom and I headed down to Orlando and visited Universal Studios aka Harry Potter World over Labor Day weekend. It was a lot of walking (as usual) but a ton of fun!
It was our first trip we took by ourselves together and we survived which is good since we’re getting married and all. It was funny when we got home he said he missed not having me around 24/7. I also introduced Tom to Dim Sum. At first, he wasn’t sure about it but then he thought it was cool because they bring the food around on carts and you just pick what you want…and now he asks for it every now and then.
OCTOBER
October was kind of a crazy month. I met up with my friend in Orlando and then Hurricane Matthew hit. It caused a lot of damage that we are all still dealing with.
This was downtown..it was TOTALLY flooded! Thankfully it didn’t stay flooded for long.
I drive down this street to get to work and it was totally covered in branches and wood from beach docks.
This is a street toally covered in branches.
The Sunday after it hit there was no power in the church and there was still water inside so we had Mass outside in the courtyard.
NOVEMBER
I had surgery on my hand that I had been putting off for like 5+ years. I had a gangleon cyct removed. I was in some pain but it wasn’t too bad. The worst was they couldn’t find a vein for the IV and they put it in a weird spot that hurt. Thankfully I was asleep for the whole thing. But my hand feels so much better now and I’m glad I had it done. The only photo I had was of this photo of a somewhat swollen hand.
DECEMBER
I went down to Tampa for Arleen’s Book Launch! Her book is awesome! You all need to read it! Tom and I went down to Orlando to Disney World for a pre-christmas trip.
I was super excited to finally eat at Be Our Guest! It is BEAUTIFUL!
The Grand Floridian is full of a lot of beautiful decorations. Tom appeases me with wanting to take all the photos. I got us bride/groom hats but I never got a photo with us in them.
The best decoration at Grand Floridian was this HUGE homemade gingerbread house.
