31 Days of Blogging Day 16
When I was little and my father passed away I didn’t know anyone else that had experienced the same thing. All I could find were kids of divorce…which is way different. In the last few years I’ve read many blogs, stories, articles, books about people who lost parents at a very young age. It’s been comforting for me to know that I wasn’t alone.
Today is the anniversary of friends fathers death and she quoted Clarence Budington Kelland on her blog. I can’t figure out if this is from a book or just something he said. If it’s from a book I’d love to read it.
I miss you more today then I did yesterday but knowing you are with me make the pain a little easier. Till I see you again Dad, may you watch over me. “My father didn’t tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it.”
― Clarence Budington Kelland
I really like this quote. I think partly because I LOVE the “St. Francis” quote “Preach the gospel at all times — If necessary, use words.” Supposedly there is speculation that he never said this..I don’t know who said it or where it came from but I think it’s a great quote! Anyway I feel like at times I never really knew much about my Dad on a personal level. Only what people have told me and I feel like he did this..preached the gospel and taught people but without really saying much but through his actions.
