After the dramatic Quick Takes I wrote last week I wanted to have a calm “fun” Quick Takes this week. Plus I needed to write this ahead of time since while you are reading this I am on a Young Adult Retreat!
P.S. Pierre came back at around 3am Wednesday Morning!! Thank you everyone for all your prayers 🙂
Last week I was stuck on number 7 and my twitter and blogging friend @AlliWait recommended that I write a Quick Take to highlight a favorite blog. I decided I needed a whole 7 Quick Takes to do that so here we are. I’ll warn you now this list is VERY random there are all different types of blogs on this list so I hope you enjoy them! I will say it now I am ADDICTED to reading blogs so this won’t be the last 7 Quick Takes Friday of this kind 🙂
Catholic And Crunchy – Stacy is the author this blog. I feel like I can REALLY relate to her life. She blogs about NFP, life, wedding planning, and living frugally. I have emailed her asking her some questions about some of her frugal stuff and we have been sharing notes! Maybe we will exchange guest posts one day 🙂 (a girl can dream)
Ask A Manager – This is a career blog I have been reading but it isn’t just for jobseekers. Alison Green has been working in management for many years and is the author of this blog. She answers readers questions about many different topics from looking for jobs, resumes, interviews, office christmas parties,to how to deal with “office politics” and tells it like it is. She also writes for U.S. NEWS & WORLD REPORT’s blog on occasion. My FAVORITE post by her is about the employee who’s boss kept eating her LUNCH! If you have a job, had a job, or just want a laugh read this blog and know you are not alone in the workplace and many offices are JUST like The Office TV Show 🙂
*This is a GREAT month to read her blog b/c she is following up with several of the people that wrote in. Here is the update for Boss Stealing Lunch! it’s nice to see what the employees did to overcome the problem and how they took Alison and all the commenters advice*
Catholic Icing (for your Catholic cake!) – Besides the fact that this blog has an AWESOME catchphrase this blog is great if you have kids or teach Religious Education at your church. She has activities and lessons for EVERY holiday, liturgical season, Catholic Topic you can think of! Most of her activities are for Preschool – lower Elementary school students but I have found ways to up the activities to use with Middle School Students. She even has a Catholic Preschool Curriculum you can purchase that she has published!
Simply Stacie – This is a blog that literally has a little bit of everything. She mostly posts reviews on books and products but she has GREAT content on Blogging. If you want some tips on monetizing your blog, using StumbleUpon, and growing your blog she has EXCELLENT content. (She also posts her earnings once a month to help others see her different income streams)
The Catholic Toolbox – this is another “activity” blog like Catholic Icing but it has more games/lesson plans. The writer is a teacher by trade and teaches Religious Education at her church and tries to share activities and games that you can use with your own students. She also has activities for every topic under the sun especially a lot of board games which kids LOVE!
Catholic Cuisine – This is another AWESOME Catholic blog that I found recently. I was invited to an “All Saints Day” party and in the invitation they wanted everyone to bring a “saint like” food and they told us to go to this blog for recipes (if we needed some ideas). Ever since I have been going to this blog for catholic recipe ideas. The COOLEST one is the Cupcake Rosary (I am still waiting for an excuse to make 100 cupcakes).
Adventures of the Mommy Homemaker – Maria writes a great blog about life with a ton of GREAT giveaways! She is always having new giveaways on her blog. Make sure to check them out you never know you may win something!

your welcome!
Love Catholic Icing!! I am planning on ordering her Catholic ABCs for our family. I love this idea for posting about blogs you read. I think it’s easy for readers to miss out on some great blogs if they are hidden in the blogroll.
BTW, I love your site!! I may need some blog spiffing up ideas…
I love it too! It makes my life 10 times easier when I need an activity for Sacrament Prep. The Catholic Toolbox has some cute activities too. I’m still looking for an excuse to make 50 cupcakes to make a cupcake rosary 🙂
I agree there are sooo many blogs out there I think it’s good for us to share with others which ones we like. Just let me know what your trying to do to your blog and I can try and help you out. I’m still learning but can usually figure out where to find the information.
Aw, you made me blush :)! I love your blog, too. And love that we are members of the same FB groups- the community feel is awesome! Hey, how did you get the awesome ‘official product reviewer’ thing for your sidebar? I am in the process of reviewing a product for them and would love to have that instead of my “The Catholic Company” one.

your welcome 🙂 Me too. I was telling some people about it at the retreat over the weekend some thought it was kinda strange (since we’ve never met) and others thought it was cool how we support each other. When I log-in to my reviewer site it is there. If it isn’t there I can send you the code.
Thank you for sharing your favorite blogs. Already, I am checking out Catholic cuisine. Merry Christmas. 🙂
Your welcome! I know I love that blog! I just need an excuse to make some of these meals 🙂
