So Jen and Morgan who host the wonderful Not Alone Series were on CatholicTV last Friday and they blogged about it yesterday on their blogs. Go check it out to hear all about their awesome experience!
A few weeks ago I mentioned I was learning Stumbleupon. Well yesterday when I was viewing some sites people shared with me I came across this awesome Virtual Tour of the Sistene Chapen in the Vatican. I can tell you that this is way more serene that it was being there in person. When I visited it in Rome it was soo crowded and noisy and not a prayerful place AT ALL! It was a beautiful place to visit nonetheless.
This week the NAS series blogged about Online Dating. Everyone wrote a ton of great tips and Jen shared this awesome video. For real meeting people online (especially a significant other) isn’t weird anymore! So stop thinking it is!
Also Buzzfeed now has videos…I’ve spent the last hour just watching all the random videos on that channel……
I’m going to the Florida Blogger’s Conference tomorrow. I’m looking forward to it as I have blogging friends that have gone the last few years and had great things to say. I was able to get one of their super super early bird tickets back in April really cheap. Looking forward to learning new things, meeting people, and having something to do this weekend.
TV shows start up next week which I’m super psyched for! It’s been a boring couple of weeks with not a lot on as most of the summer shows ended. Although it did let me catch up on podcasts. I recently discovered Daria on Amazon Prime and am reminiscing in my youth by watching it. I kind of laugh when I watch it because I can remember sneaking into my moms room after we were put to bed to watch it.
I saw a preview for Parenthood the other night and I’m super psyched about that show coming back!
I’m now about a month into this working from home virtual assistant gig and I kind of like it. It’s not a “traditional job” and there are cons when it comes to taxes but I can work whatever hours I want which means not working at 8am and getting to sleep in and working at night if I want. I can also not work as much some days and then work a few hours on the weekend instead.
I have learned in the last few weeks that I need to find things to do to force me to leave the house so I don’t go stir-crazy. Somedays I get so involved in what I’m doing the next thing I know it’s 8pm and I haven’t left my desk. The next few weeks I really want to focus on finding some opportunities to get me out of the house or at least go and work at a coffee shop or something instead.
I’ve been working on writing more Yelp! Reviews for places I visit. I’ve been using their check-in option now that foursquare is gone and it helps me to remember to leave reviews after I visit. I’m trying to get to Elite! Status so I can get invited to special events and help with some of the things in #6.
Have a great weekend everyone! For more Quick Takes, visit Conversion Diary!
Great to see you having a productive week! Keep me posted! 🙂
