The Lenten Meal Plan Link-Up is going really well. We have over 40 recipes in the Link-Up. So if you are struggling for something to eat tonight check them out!
I want to thank Chris for hosting two weeks ago, Veronica for hosting last week, and Karianna for hosting this week. Make sure to check out the link-up if you need some ideas for today.
I hope you will check it out if you aren’t sure what to have for dinner tonight.
I heard the song, This Man by Jeremy Camp, on the radio the other day. I remember first hearing this song in college during Lent and it always makes me think of Lent and Holy Week.
My birthday was last Friday!! I turned 29 for the first time. My favorite part of it has been all the Birthday Emails I received. I’m still reaping in the rewards as most of them are good all month. Make sure you check-out my Free Birthday Deals so you can get free stuff on your birthday!
Lent Check-In Time!
Lent is going okay for me. I’ve been going to adoration 1-2 times a week which has been really good. Sometimes I go the last hour or so and have been enjoying doing Benediction and the closing prayers. On Monday nights they do a Litany for the Unborn. It is SUPER long but really powerful at the same time.
I have also been reading the book, Saint John the Great: His Five Great Loves by Jason Evert. I’ve been enjoying this book and hope to finish it by Easter. I’m using a Lent Calendar to pray for different people and things each day. Sometimes I get behind and pray for several people and things all at once. (Hey…I’m not perfect)
I have also been watching all of the Best Lent Ever and #ShareJesus videos.
I LOVE the Share Jesus videos. There is a new one each day and each one has a different speaker and a lot of “famous” Catholics that I have heard before in other videos, books, or conferences. I also love that they are all less than 3 minutes long and they are set up in a way that it is really easy to share them on social media. I usually see them shared a few times throughout the day on social media.
The Best Lent Ever Videos are on the long side but full of really good information. Last week the video about How to Read the Bible was full of a ton of great information I even took notes! Have you watched either sets of these videos? Any favorites? Let me know in the comments so I can make sure I didn’t miss them!
This weekend is our Annual Eucharistic Congress for my diocese. I’m really looking forward to the Young Adult track tonight. The Keynote for us is Father Mike Schmitz. I listen to his homilies every week so I’m pumped to see/hear him live! Leah Darrow was supposed to be the other speaker but she went and got pregnant #CatholicProblems so she got moved it to 2016.
On Saturday the keynote is Cardinal Dolan! I’m super excited to hear him as well. Then I am helping with the kids track in the afternoon. Eucharist BINGO and other fun activities FTW! I think it’s going to be an awesome weekend!!
My friend Monique is staffing a retreat this weekend! A retreat I actually attended and staffed all through college! YAY Awakenings! She wrote this fun blog post with songs all about the before, during, and after a retreat. I loved this post! Go check it out! I put all the songs in a playlist on youtube.
I’m kind of in a blogging/life slump. It took me 3 weeks to come up with all these quick takes! I think part of it is just “winter” and this blah time of year. There isn’t a lot going on. The weather is kind of dreary..I know I live in Florida but the weather in February basically sucked…which I know it’s winter but every year it’s this big shock…for everyone LOL which I think is funny in general.
Hopefully eventually I’ll get some of these blog posts in my brain written. We shall see. I’m really looking forward to this weekend! Have a great weekend everyone!

I loved loved loved “The One Thing” from the Best Lent Ever series. It was perfect, and I’m not big on Matthew Kelly. (I also watched “Stinking Thinking.” Not as good.) I have been captivated by Fr. Robert Barron’s Lent emails, though.
I’m never shy about posting less than seven Quick Takes. That makes them quicker, right? Happy belated birthday!
