Wow I haven’t participated in this link-up since before my wedding and I’ve now been married a year and a half..oops. I keep saying I will blog more and then it never happens. So I’m not even going to say I’m going to try and do better or apologize…it’s just this phase of life.

One reason I am writing this post is I was listening to the Ministry Monday podcast and they interviewed someone about Parish Organization. I know it sounds boring but they had a lot of really interesting things to say.
Like how the parish has all these individual ministries but we are one parish that needs to work together.
And at the end, they talked about some links I want to share here about meetings.

One of the links they shared said that there are over 11 million meetings in the U.S. every day!! Which makes about 4 Billion a Year. That is just insane! And they say half of them are unproductive…so think about that 2 Billion unproductive meetings. What a waste of time.

This parish in Charlotte, NC is one of the largest parishes in the country with over 10,000 members. Every year they have over 600 students receive first communion every year. It was a really interesting read about how things at this parish are done and how even though it’s large they seem to have a good community feel.

Now that I’m married and my mom no longer works at our church I’m trying to figure out where I fit in ministry. I really miss helping out at the church but I don’t really know what I want to do.
Last year I helped run a bible study and did Alpha but that kind of fell apart. I just became a Eucharistic Minister so maybe I’ll just do that for now.
I don’t know. I feel like something spiritually is missing from my life but I don’t know what. I really need to go on a retreat but haven’t been able to find one yet. The Blessed Is She Retreat that was supposed to be in Florida ended up getting cancelled and the Life Teen Women’s Retreat always fills up in 5 minutes so I never am able to sign up in time. I’ve often wondered if I could just show up and see if no one shows up.

Back in June, we went on a Family Vacation on an Alaskan Cruise! It was so much fun! Go here to view my photo album. It was so beautiful and I’ve never seen anything else like it.
Picture of a Glacier we got to visit.

Since it is NFP Week here are two blog posts I wrote about it in the past.
Have a great weekend everyone! Visit Kelly for more Quick Takes!
Regarding #5, I think that depends on whether you want something *for* you or something for you *to do*. Essentially, do you want to join a group or go on a retreat, or do you want to start a group or run a meeting? Those are very different ways of being involved, and one way might fit better into your life right now. I’d also suggest looking outside of your parish. I’ve been to Bible study at a parish I didn’t otherwise attend, and non-parish-specific groups can encourage growth more than parish-based ones.
