I have been trying to figure out what to write for this weeks Quick Takes all week and have just been in “blah mode” This weeks Quick Takes are going to be 7 EXTREMELY RANDOM THINGS! I hope everyone enjoys and Merry Christmas! Thanks to Jen @ Conversion Diary for HOSTING this awesome Link-up!
NORAD TRACKS SANTA – Christmas Eve is tomorrow and one of my favorite things to do on Christmas Eve Eve and Christmas Eve into Christmas Day is to TRACK Santa as he travels the world delivering presents! I know I don’t have any kids and am a 20 something who “doesn’t believe in Santa” but this is still COOL! You can even track him on Google Earth (I haven’t tried it on this computer yet). Every few hours they will post a youtube video letting you know where “Santa” is and who “Santa” is called in that country (ex. Father Christmas). As Midnight approaches he moves around. Also while you are waiting go here and you can play addicting mini games at the North Pole!
Last weekend I went on a Young Adult Retreat. I haven’t been on a retreat that I wasn’t help run in awhile. It was interesting to be on the receiving side again. I’m not sure I like it! HAHA! The retreat was run by the Franciscan Friar Brothers and Sisters. It’s nice to see the religious out running things like that but for me it was hard to relate to the talks, they were almost too broad. I am a very analytical person and need very concrete details and examples. I did talk to one of the Brothers Saturday night during the social and told him about my awesome blog and the awesome #CATHSORORITY community and he thought it was awesome how we support each other and share our faith through the internet! So props to him for thinking we are awesome!
Wordless Advent will be ending on Monday. I hope you have enjoyed the series. I hope to do something similar during Lent (but probably won’t be daily).
In January I want to start answering YOUR QUESTIONS!! If you have a CATHOLIC, COUPONING, OR MONEY SAVING question email it to me at thecatholiccouponer at gmail.com and I’ll answer it!
In January I’m going to start posting more deals. I will be posting deals, coupons, and “best coupon match-up of the week.” What day of the week would you like to see these deals? I’m thinking about making it Deal Wednesday! What kind of deals would you like to see posted?
This week I have been ADDICTED to PINTEREST! Yesterday I rearranged all of my boards and organized them better. I’ve found a ton of great crafts and recipes to try! I LOVE Hot Chocolate and these are super cute Hot Chocolate Stirrers you can make with straws, marshmallows, and chocolate! YUM

Yummy Lasagna!
I’m actually looking forward to going to Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve. We’ve been going to Midnight Mass for the last few years and have been enjoying it. I like it because it gives me a real excuse for going out/being up late 🙂 I also like it because all the screaming kids are at home in bed (is that mean? sorry if this offends you). I’m also looking forward to seeing how The New Roman Missal will effect the Christmas Masses and the CE Catholics. It might be pretty comical! Goodluck to everyone at mass this weekend!
After the last Wordless Advent posts on Monday I’m not sure how much I will be posting until after the new year so I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year! I have GREAT things planned for 2012 on this blog so stay tuned!

We track Santa every year. Or rather, my husband & son do.
I miss going to Midnight Mass. Hoping that someday I’ll get to do it again. The comment about the CE Catholics made me laugh. I will say, on the subject of screaming kids, that screaming is annoying but normal kid noise is the future of the church, and I’m so grateful I attend a parish at which it is taken for granted!
Aww cute! I love tracking Santa it keeps Santa alive 🙂 and my Dad was a teacher and when we were little we would ask him where is santa? and he’d tell us which country. He had traveled all over Europe so I’m sure he was telling the truth 😉
Yeah I know screaming kids are the future it’s hard to remember that sometimes when everyone is making dirty looks at xyz family 🙁 Sometimes I wish mass was more “kid friendly” which is why I LOVE churches that have Children Liturgy of the Word helps them better understand mass and want to be there 🙂
I am making those lasagna rolls up today! My family always does pasta and so this year I wanted to contribute. They look delicious!
As far as CE Catholics go there are a lot in my family but they happened to go with us a couple weeks ago so they got warning at least. I can only imagine that in larger numbers though. Cue the grumbling, pissing and moaning, and frustrated sighs please. 🙂
Love Wordless Advent. Can’t wait to see what you do with Lent.
Katie@NFP and Me recently posted…7 Quick Takes #16
Thanks! Yeah it’ll be interesting too bc at some xmas masses a TON of people have to stand. So I hope they have extra cue cards. My sister doesn’t even KNOW about the changes and my mom is all I’m not telling her I want her to find out for herself hahaha so it’ll be interesting.
Yumm you’ll have to let me know how they come out. I wanted to make them but we make raviolis at xmas so I’ll have to make them in a few weeks. I found Lasagna cupcakes but they don’t look as fun as the lasagna cupcakes.
Wow those Lasagna roll ups look yum! Pinetrest really is addicting. I did most of my cookies this year from their ideas. Hope you have a very Merry Christmas. I agree about the Midnight mass especially when I have the screaming kids.haha. Enjoy! Let me know how the new changes go for Christmas. We go to a Latin Rite parish so we haven’t had a chance to check out the new changes yet. 🙂
I will! I’m sure it’ll be in next weeks 7QT 🙂 Yes I LOVE pinterest. It’s such an easy way to find inspiration/crafts/recipes to try! I can’t wait to try the lasagna cups! I’ll be posting how they came out.
