One of the classes that is required for my degree program is an introduction to computers class which is basically an introduction to Microsoft Office. I really didn’t want to take it because I use MS Office EVERYDAY! But there was nothing I could really do about it. At least I didn’t have to buy a book b/c my mom took the class last semester and it’s the same book. So far I haven’t learned much that I didn’t already know. I’ve learned some tricks but nothing MAJOR. However this week we are on the powerpoint chapter and I learned how to make animations and it’s sooo cool!! Look at this animation I uploaded to youtube:
*Warning if you have a cat they might get mad at this video. Milo is STILL looking for the cat in this video (he kept looking out the window).*

I cannot believe that Sunday is Palm Sunday!! I feel like Lent started out slow and then it went WARP SPEED till the end. On Palm Sunday after the 11am mass the Bishop does a Blessing of the Fleets aka blessing of the boats that choose to participate. I forget what was going on last year but I’m hoping to attend this year because it sounds really cool. Hopefully I’ll have a car to get there.

One thing that I’ve loved since moving to Florida is that TONS offices are closed on Good Friday. I’ve only had 2 jobs since moving here but so far both offices have been closed. The first job I wasn’t that surprised because it was a Christian based company and one of the owners was Catholic but my current job has no religious affiliation at all (that I can tell). It is a Non-Profit though. So I’m glad I’ll be able to participate in the Triduum services.

For the past 2 weeks our pastor has been giving talks about the services of Holy Week & The Triduum. I didn’t go last week because I was teaching the middle school class about Lent but I went this past week and it was really interesting. I even learned some things I didn’t know like how The Veneration of the Cross on Good Friday is one of the churches OLDEST traditions. I also learned about a prayer service called Tenebrae that used to be done on Palm Sunday Night and it ended with everyone banging their hymnals/missals/prayer books on the pews to signify Jesus’ death/burial. They are thinking about bringing it back and doing it Good Friday night.
We were supposed to go to Aquatica tomorrow (Sea World’s Waterpark) but it’s supposed to rain and not be warm enough to go swimming so I think we’re staying home. I was really wanting to go to Aquatica before my free tickets expire on 3/31 for the #AquaticaTurns5 promotion. Since this week is Spring Break and I have Friday off work I might see what the whether does Wed-Sun and go down one day.

The reason why this post is so late going up is because I ran out of quicktakes after 4. Lately I really want to blog but I’m out of topics to blog about.
So since I turned 27 a few weeks ago (man I’m getting old) I really think I should make a list of 30 things to do before I turn 30. Now to only figure out what to put on such list that I’ll actually accomplish and not “well when I win the lottery I’ll be able to do that.”
Have a great weekend! For more Quick Takes, visit Jen at Conversion Diary!
