I didn’t have an Advent series this year but I’ve done some cool things and I updated the blog about them yesterday. You can read about it here.
I have a big announcement to make..I have FINALLY figured out a way to get my email under control.
See about 2 years ago when I started couponing and blogging I created all these different email addresses to make things simpler to keep track of different tasks. 1 email for blogging, 1 for couponing stuff and sales flyers, another for work stuff, another for a 2nd blog I created, etc.
In the process of all that I actually complicated things more than anything. I could never remember where I was emailing from what. At one point I had over 1000 emails to go through and then I was finding I was missing appointments, opportunities, and sales. So after reading up on some gmail features on handling email it was recommended that I forward all my email addresses to one inbox. After doing that I was able to get a handle of everything. Use the emailgame, the mailbox app, unsubscribe from things, create filters, and get everything out of my inbox! It took a bit to setup but has been totally worth it!
A few weeks ago I went to a Theology Night at one of the neighboring parishes. One of my favorite priests was the guest speaker and I was curious to see what he would talk about. He gave us two articles he found on US Catholic.
One was about Young Adults who are keeping their catholic faith to themselves. You can read it here.
The second article was about why Young Adults are excited about Pope Francis. You can read that here.
It sparked a really interesting discussion among the group. I found the first article really SAD how all these young adults are active in their parishes and some even WORK for the church but “in real life” they don’t ever talk about being catholic or tell their friends they work for the church. Now this was just a study so we know not EVERYONE is like this but just gave me perspective of why it’s important to live out my faith, share it with others, and when I have children [god willing] to practice the faith at home and teach them why we do different things.
Along with my new blog design I am going to have a series of giveaways in January. I have about 10 books I want to giveaway on the blog. I thought about having 1 huge mega book giveaway but I think instead I’m going to split it up and have each book be it’s own giveaway (so you don’t end up with books you won’t read) and have each giveaway last from 1-14 days so I’ll probably have giveaways going on until March. Stay tuned readers!
I’m thinking about buying this blog planner. I feel like this blog needs more organization that me sitting at my computer saying, “Hey I should write a blog post today.”
I saw this Blogmopolitan Quiz on another blog earlier this week. It’s basically a cosmo quiz for bloggers. I think I’m going to fill it out and link-up next week. It looks like fun 🙂

Doesn’t it feel awesome to get your email under control? Oh my goodness. I’m not always at 0 in my inbox, but ever since I started seriously aiming at that, things have been so much better.
