HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I haven’t done a 7 Quick Takes since last year!! Hardy har har..but really it’s been a few weeks.
I’ve made a few changes to the blog over the past week. I’ve moved my RSS feed and email subscription to mailchimp. So make sure to sign up if you haven’t yet 😉 if you are signed up through a reader you should be okay as most readers pick up your feed via your website url now. My goal is to create some sort of email newsletter by the end of the year…I’m even thinking about it having more of a frugal living/budgeting focus but I haven’t gotten there yet.
It was really nice to have the week between Christmas and New Years off but going back to work yesterday was INSANE and not pretty…because daily work still builds up and after about the third, “well this is interesting” we were way out of focus and called it a day!
Last year I decided to start a 30 before 30 list….I had 3 years to complete it and it was way less overwhelming than the 1001 things in 101 days lists I have seen people do. I did pretty good last year and finished 6 things on my list with 2.5 years to go. Several of my tasks I will finish in 2014. On Wednesday I started one to take a photo everyday and document it in my Photo365 app and this website I found…so far I’m 2 for 2. I think it’s really going to help me focus more on what I do each day and even help me get out of the house on days I don’t have anything planned.
We got my mom GOOD on Christmas Day. We bought her a mini fridge for her office and she had NO IDEA. My sister wrapped it and told her they got her SIL & BIL a new lawn mower for Christmas. My mom knew she was lying but really had no idea who it was for really or what it was..on Christmas day we told her oh man this is labeled wrong and gave it to her she was SHOCKED it was AWESOME. And now she’s very happy to have a mini fridge in her new office 🙂
This year for my end of the year post I wrote about my Top 8 posts that got the most views/comments. I also linked a few posts that didn’t get much traffic but I thought they had good content. Go check it out here.
