This year I was chosen along with 85 other blogs to participate in the Back to School Backpack Pay It Forward charity event!! I was so excited when I got chosen because I heard hundreds of bloggers apply and not everyone gets picked.
I was given $25 by our sponsor Campus Book Rentals (who I have used to rent textbooks) to buy a backpack and as many school supplies as I could to donate to a family, student, or organization of my choice. At work we had a box set up for the Tools 4 Schools program for our local school district so after purchasing my items I placed them in the box at work. I love that my job has a charity committee and finds ways to give back to the community.
I shopped in 3 different stores to get a wide assortment of items to donate. I also estimated how much the products normally are (off season) and calculated my total savings.
