We made it…to the LAST day of the 31 Days of Free Writes challenge! *happy dance* I think todays word is perfect for how I feel about the ending of this challenge – ALMOST.
I feel like every year I do the 31 Days of Blogging Challenge something happens the last week of the challenge to keep me from finishing. I was ALMOST to the finish line and then I fall on my face. Last year I ended up having to pack and move unexpectedly. This year I got sick the last week and was just so tired and drained I didn’t always feel like blogging or writing when I got home at night.
It’s okay though even though I almost finished I am DETERMINED to actually finish in the next week or so. There are a few days I need to go back and write up. I will admit I TOTALLY failed and didn’t really write much on my Virtual Assistant Blog’s series. I’m going to work on going back to that site and writing up the posts slowly.
One thing I learned (once again) from my failed challenge was proper planning. Every year I do this I kind of go by the fly of my pants. I come up with a random topic at the end of September. I haven’t written ANY posts or come up with any topics. Then October comes and I am running around like a crazy woman trying to come up with ideas and content everyday.
It’s so dumb. I know when this challenge is I should be coming up with topics in the spring or summer. I think I once calculated that if you started in June you only had to write about 6 posts a month to have them all mostly written by the time October rolls around. I’d love to come up with a topic with guest posts to make it even easier on me and bring my blog some variety but I haven’t found a topic that interesting yet.
I may practice some of my theories for a challenge that takes place in April called the A to Z challenge. Except in that challenge you have to blog everyday (except Sundays since there are only 26 letters) but each day you have to blog about something related to the different letters of the alphabet.
Thank you everyone that has been following me along in this challenge. And congrats to everyone that participated and made it through to the end! This challenge has rejuvenated my blogging spirit and I’m looking forward to writing about new things in the coming months!
