This weeks word is kind of funny..it’s…wait for it…LAUNDRY.
GO
LAUNDRY…I really don’t like this Laundry thing. But alas I am not a celebrity that can just buy new clothes all the time or rich enough for a maid so it is a mundane task that we all must suffer through. Most weeks I put the laundry on and my mom does all the folding…sometimes I get out of doing it altogether shhhhhhh…..
My sister likes to hog the washer and dryer….it’s almost like a race to get your wash on before she takes over and has her clothes sit in the washer/dryer for 3 days. Sometimes out of frustration my mom ends up doing it all. I really think she needs to invest in more clothes so she doesn’t do as much but whatever…
Man this post is BORING…time for a funny story….last night my sister was doing some of her fiance’s laundry and all upset that it was wrinkled..so out came the iron and the ironing board….man that was HYSTERICAL to listen to…she kept freaking out because steam and water kept coming out of the iron…hahahahaha…sweetie that is what irons do!!
It’s times like those I really miss my Grandma. She LOVED LOVED to IRON. I have no idea why or how or where that gene came from because no one else LOVES to iron and we’re all basically mediocre at the task. She loved to iron so much we even buried her with one (I’m not kidding).
Although I think none of us are good at ironing because she loved it so much she’d go to everyone’s house just about once a week (everyone had a day we had Tuesday) and do everyones ironing. The wrinkled clothes ended up in the “Grandma” pile.
For now I’m pretty good at ironing but hate it so I just buy silky clothes that don’t need ironing 🙂
STOP
Now go read everyone else’s posts. Thanks Lisa Jo for hosting!
Edits: adding some more information for The Good Enough Mom Link-Up! Yes I know I’m not a mom but I still do laundry.
In her post she asked if we were a Penny or a Sheldon when it came to laundry. OMG I am totally a PENNY!!!! You are lucky if I separate all my colors. Usually I do but if I don’t have that many whites I don’t. I ALWAYS do my dedicates separate (that’s probably my only rule but if something accidentally gets categorized wrong it’s not a big deal). I def. don’t have a fancy shirt folder like Sheldon (does anyone?) and my clothes are known to sit in baskets for over a week…………………..
Ha! My great grandma used to iron underwear. Seriously? I’m lucky if I can remember where our iron is. Usually that happens 5 minutes before the wedding, we were supposed to be at 30 minutes ago, starts. Hey, I might be late to the party, but at least I’m wrinkle free! Happy Weekend girlfriend.

My grandmother used to iron a lot…don’t know if she loved it but she sure did a lot of it. I can remember helping her take it off the clothesline, sprinkle it with water, and put it in a bag in the bottom of the refrigerator until she had time to iron it. I personally hate to iron and have been known to throw something back in the dryer with a damp washcloth to get the wrinkles out!!

My grandma irons, too. It must be a holdover from having to dry clothes on the line. But ironed clothes really do look much better! I’m lucky to get the clothes in their drawers, though.

I hate laundry, but I hate ironing even more! I have a growing pile of things that need a little ironing. We just end up not wearing those clothes!

Ironing? I thought the ironing board was for holding towels that are too beat up to use and clothes waiting for donation. At least that’s what we use it for at our house.
