Year in Review!
I can’t believe this link-up is a YEAR OLD! This link-up has been a great addition to my blog posts and has been a great way for me to blog about being single. I really like that we have different topics each week because it helps me blog about being single. Sometimes I want to blog about being single but I’m not sure what to write. I’ve enjoyed getting to know Jen, Morgan, Britt, Niki, Bek, Claire and Joan and all the girls that have linked-up throughout the year…and I’m sure I’m forgetting a few bloggers..Sorry!!!
I didn’t start linking up until August. I remember seeing Amanda (that just got married, congrats!) blog about it when it first started and I thought man that looks like an awesome link-up I should join but I didn’t get around to it until August.
When you blog this weird thing happens. You “meet” these other bloggers and you learn about them and you form this weird bond with them and feel like you’ve known them your whole life but you’ve never really ever met them before. Last fall after going to a blogging conference that was mostly wives and moms and then seeing more conferences and events appear that were geared mostly for moms I was really down that single bloggers were so out of the loop. As a blogger I really want to grow my blog, learn more, and meet people but I feel so out of place at the conferences and events. Then Morgan and Jen announced the NAS weekend in Savannah in July (literally days after I was having all these negative thoughts) and I knew that I needed to go and I cannot wait to meet everyone that is going!
Throughout the year I posted to the link-up 18 times. My favorite posts were the survey post (we should do another one!) and then the linky/list posts we had on our:
Favorite Blogs/Websites for Singles
I really enjoyed writing about the following topics even though some of them were hard for me to write about/deal with:
Surviving Events as a Singleton
Why Not Both? – Married and Singles being friends
To read all my posts from the Not Alone Series throughout the year go here. I look forward to another year of link-ups with this awesome group of women. I can’t wait to see what other topics we come up with and continuing to get to know everyone and watch everyone grow from one another.
It has been great getting to know you too!!! It has been a great year getting to know single bloggers not that I don’t love the married and mommy bloggers but it’s great to have bloggers in the same place in life I am.
