This challenge is kind of fun. Every day I open up my blog and think, “Where in Europe should I go today?” I think I am going to go through all the smaller towns and then head to the big cities. So today we’re off to Verona, Italy!
Ever since I saw the movie Letters to Juliet I wanted to go to Verona. However in real life it wasn’t as cool as it was in that movie. We were only in Verona for the day and we were unable to find anything we were looking for! We kept seeing signs that said “Juliet’s house this way” we’d go that way and nothing would be there.
Here is a church I took a picture of on one of those “hop on hop off” busses. We took them all over the place…I think it’s a catholic church I have no idea #photographyfail
One thing I can say about Verona and all over Italy was the food was DELICIOUS!!! And I remember it wasn’t really all that expensive…heck the prosciutto over there was SOOO cheap because it wasn’t imported across the ocean! YUM! We had a delicious lunch in Verona before we headed back to the train station to head to Rome!
My mom ordered this prosciutto dish. After she ordered it she didn’t realize it had melon in it and we thought well this is weird. But it was SOOOOO GOOD! I guess it’s similar to the whole eating salty and sweet foods together.
Oddly enough these are the ONLY photos I had for Verona. I remember I was REALLY tired. We took an overnight train from Paris and arrived in Verona at like 8am. But it stopped in Milan at 6am and I never really went back to sleep. Plus it wasn’t really comfortable sleeping on the train but it was a fun experience.
Funny overnight train story: there was this kids choir on our train headed to sing in Milan and there was this little boy practicing his english on me it was really funny. He would ask those super simple questions I can remember learning when I took spanish or french in school like “What is your favorite color?” “Do you have any siblings?” So many interesting people you meet along your travels.
Until tomorrow Ciao!
