I just realized that about 4 quick takes ago I hit 2 years worth of Quick Takes! Way to go Me! It’s amazing to think this link-up has existed since 2008!! Thank you Jenna for that important research. I need to figure out how to make her research into an infographic because that would be awesome!
One of the things I have ALWAYS hated about MS Word was how much it sucks when you try to add photos to the document. Nothing ever wants to align right and you end up fighting with the program for 3 days. Yeah that was me last weekend as I attempt to write up my journal of Greece for my school project. As a blogger and person I am WAY too lazy to write it out by hand and believe it or not blog posts with photos are SUPER HARD to print out so they look nice!
SIDE NOTE: Someone needs to create a plugin where you can export blogs to word.
Anyway after fighting with word all day Saturday I decided to try pages. I bought pages when I first got my mac but never liked it since I had used word for so long I ended up getting word not long after. Well believe it or not pages is actually much more user friendly and LOVES PHOTOGRAPHS so I finally finished the project yesterday and spent WAY too much money getting it printed/bound at Office Max.
And there you go a quick take about nonsense that is probably jibberish to most people.
Anyway so I originally created a Category link to my Europe posts before I left but now I decided that is way too confusing and I turned it into a page. Much easier to navigate and find what you are looking for and read about in terms of all my posts about Europe. All of my posts for the first 10 days of my trip are written I just have to sit down and get them into wordpress. So watchout world! Days 1&2 are up!
So does anyone use YELP to write reviews or at least read them? Did you know they host EVENTS?!!? Yes they do! I just found out about this last month when I saw someone I follow tweet about one she attended.
After I learned this I started looking at the events and attended my first one last night! It was so much fun! I got free food, food drinks, and into a museum for free. I got to try food from all sorts of newer restaurants and some of them were giving out coupons. Score.
I was hoping I would have met some people at the event but it seemed like EVERYONE was with SOMEONE. Everyone I knew was busy last night so I just went alone. At least it gave me excuses to take awkward photos of random things.
Because I have time to spare/am bored/don’t get out much I sat back this week and watched a ton of facebook group drama go down. We are all still trying to figure out why people got so worked up about everything! It’s pretty laughable when you think about a bunch of 25-55 year olds acting like 5 year olds…over petty facebook groups. For real. If you don’t like what people in the groups are saying or doing leave the group and move on don’t go TALKING about them in other groups (because the original person is going to find out).
My blogging friend Deanna had her success story posted on Catholic Match this week!! I loved how the story was focused on their catholic faith and how they met the POPE as some of the success stories are all about how they met and fell in love (which are nice to read too). She also wrote on her blog how she met her husband on Catholic Match and I loved reading them. You can read those posts here: Part 1 and Part 2.
