Happy Friday everyone! This is my first posting for the “Deals I’ve Scored” series. This week has been a pretty good week. I haven’t been doing too much couponing lately (hence the lack of deal postings) But I did go to 3 stores this week. This week I shopped at CVS, Walgreens, and Publix. Overall I saved a total of 66%. I will break it down later in this post. I was out of town over the weekend so I didn’t get to publix till Wednesday (the last day of the sale) but I was able to get everything I needed which was good.
This week was also different because I took my sister, Stephanie, along for the ride and boy was she IMPRESSED! She is now my apprentice and trying to learn everything I know about couponing! So look for some more deals from us!! Okay enough chit-chat onto the deals!
The first store we visited this week was CVS. At CVS before they scanned my CVS card my bill was over $110! Stephanie was freaking out because we didn’t have that much money with us. After they scanned our CVS card the total went down to about $65 and she calmed down a bit. Then after all the coupons it came out to $35.65, but I had purchased a $10 giftcard for $6 from Saveology. So we only had to pay $25.65 and we got about $5 in ECB back for next week. Here is everything we got:
We are pretty stocked up on Laundry Soap and candy. We also got a 12 pack of 7up but uh it fell off the cart and the box ripped so it’s not pictured. So here is the CVS Breakdown:
Total Before Extra Care Card: $108.52
Total Saved with Sales & Coupons: $72.87
Total After Sales, Coupons, and CVS Gift Card $25.65
Percent Saved: 67% and I still have $5 ECB to use next week! This was probably one of my better CVS runs in awhile. So all in and all it was a good trip.
The next store we went to this week was Walgreens. Walgreens had some Diabetes machines that my mom wanted on sale for $10 (normally $19.99) plus you received $10 in Register Rewards when you bought them so it was like getting them for free! We purchased two of these machines so then I had $20 RR to use on other things we needed. We had a minor flaw at Walgreens. I went to the 24 hour one around midnight but they conveniently were waxing the floors while I was there and Aisles 1-6 were closed. So I was only able to get some snacks and the Diabetes machines on that trip. We even asked them when the aisles would be re-oponed and they said oh he’s going to do a second coat on everything and we were like oh so the store’s closed? And the girl said no we’re not allowed to close but you can’t access anything. So that was a bust, we asked where the closest 24 hour Walgreens was and she told us to go to CVS. So I went today to get the rest of the Walgreens sales. With my $20 RR in-tow I got some makeup products that were on sale, Clear Eyes Eyedrops, and Palmolive Dish Soap (which I think we have enough to last us a year…maybe I’ll find someone to donate it to) and only had to spend $6 out of pocket! Here is my Walgreens Break-down:
Total Before Sales and Coupons: $101.37
Total Saved with Sales & Coupons: $71.53
Total Spent after Sales & Coupons: $29.84
Percent Saved: 71%
The last store I visited was Publix. Publix can be tough depending on the week. But this week was actually much better than past weeks. This week we were able to save 61% at Publix! Anything over 50% at the grocery store is good so I was super excited to save 61%! Here is the Publix breakdown:
Total before Sales & Coupons: $140.86
Total Saved with Sales & Coupons: $86.42
Total Spent after Sales & Coupons: $54.44
Percent Saved: 61%, I thought this was pretty good considering I didn’t have any coupons for the sausage, hot dogs (the coupon I had expired 🙁 ), frozen vegetables, sauerkraut, or paper plates.
We are now stocked up on Laundry soap since both CVS and Publix had laundry soap on sale BOGO.
Here is my overall breakdown:
Total before Sales & Coupons: $351.82
Total Saved after Sales & Coupons: $231.82
Total SPENT After Sales & Coupons: $94.93
Total Percent SAVED: 66%
Overall I think this was a pretty good week. Look out for next week it looks like CVS is having some good deals on paper and cleaning products so we’ll see what we end up with.
