I have a guest post today over at Cherishing Everyday Beauty today as part of her Our Friends, the Saints series. She has a TON of guest posts on different saints that you should all go read.
When I first saw this series I LOVED the premise of it. People wrote guest posts about how different saints and how they influenced their lives. My favorite saint, St. Therese of Lisiuex, was already written about so I wrote about St. Francis.
When I went to Italy we traveled to Assisi and I was able to incorporate our visit to Assisi into my post along with my devotion to St. Francis. It was such a wonderful experience to visit the city a saint we all talk about and feel the spiritualness in the city along with the other pilgrams there and I was even able to connect with my father and his former students in a really unique way. Head over to Cherishing Everyday Beauty to read more about it.
Here is a short excerpt:
Out of all the saints out there one of the most popular saints is Saint Francis. I’ve always liked him as he is the patron saint of animals. I always loved how around his feast day they’d do a blessing of the animals at churches. One year I brought Milo & Pierre (my cats) up to the church to get blessed….yeah they weren’t fans of that adventure but I brought them anyway. <more>
