Retold by: Juliet David
Illustrated by Daniel Haworth
The book is very simple yet it is colorful. The pieces are easy to move and fun to see what is hiding behind the pieces. I especially like the way they give the reference to scripture as to where the stories are found so that with an older child you could then read them the story from either a children’s bible or an adult bible. I think most kids would find the book fun to read and want to read it over and over again. I would recommend this book for small children. I have no problem using this book with my kindergarten students as well as in the nursery in my parish.
Please Note: It states on the back of this book that it is not intended for Children under 36 months due to small parts. I agree there are small parts and a child under 3 might be tempted to pull on the movable pieces, however I think with an adult sitting with them they would find this book very enjoyable as would any pre-school or kindergarten child.
