Today we will be continuing our tour through Paris. I can say the movies that take place in Paris are VERY ACCURATE. I saw a lot of “cliche Paris” things while I was in Paris. It’s nice to see the things I’ve seen in movies are accurate and not made up.
This building is some kind of museum but originally started as a boarding school. This would have made a better picture if that RV wasn’t in front of it! One of the bridges
Paris has a river that runs through it with the iconic bridges. On one of these bridges we passed there are tons of LOCKS. These are known as “Lover’s Bridge”
Paris is known as “the city for Lovers” (unfortunately I did not find love in Paris). As a sign of eternal love couples will lock a padlock on the fence around the Seine River and throw the key in the river as a sign of their eternal devotion. They also say if you kiss on this bridge you will happy together forever!! Apparently this craze took off around the world and I wonder if that is how The Love Tree tradition here in St. Augustine was created.
Another cool thing we saw while in Paris were these random Flower shops and art stands. It was just like I remember seeing when I watched Madeline as a little kid.
Another thing we saw a lot in Paris was just random people sitting in the grass talking and eating and having picnics. I thought this was really cool and very European. Somedays I wish it wasn’t so hot where I lived so I could take advantage of doing things like this more often.
This is also the other side of the building and memorial from yesterday’s post. If you need to catch up on my other 31 Days of Europe posts you can go to my landing page!
