Once again everyone sported their Ashes on Wednesday on the twitter hashtag: #AshTag. I always love looking through the hashtag as everyone shares their ashes. I find it really refreshing to see so many people evangelizing on Twitter and Instagram. I even had a college friend that follows me on Instagram see my #Ashtag photo and she thought it was so cool after she went to mass she took a picture of her and her children sporting their ashes on Instagram.
This week I was really busy on my blog. Along with my Lenten Meal Plan Link-Up and my #40DaysOfPhotos photo challenge I also posted about some really neat Lent Calendars. I used one last year and you can see a sample of what I did last year on that post. I really enjoyed coloring in the calendar. It really helps me reflect on Lent and keep track of where in Lent we are. It works with my analytical personality. These can also be good for children who like to color.
Yesterday I attended my first Google Hangout! I’m in youth ministry facebook group and someone hosted one about Confirmation. Since I help with confirmation in my parish I went. It was fun. It was such a different way to connect with people that makes you feel like the people are really in the room with you (and not 3000 miles away). I hope to do one again it was fun!
I’m really happy that I found a scaling slide non-profit doctors office. Over the weekend I formed this weird feeling in my ear. It didn’t hurt it just felt weird. The pharmacist seemed to think it was earwax build-up so I bought some drops. I tried about 10 different kinds of drops and got that As Seen On TV ear wax removal contraption. Nothing was really working. Then on Tuesday night I couldn’t sleep at all and by the time I got out of class on Wednesday I was in a TON of pain. Somehow I managed to sit through mass on Wednesday morning (go figure). My mom had gone to the health department last year and gotten some paperwork for us to fill out so we can go to doctors for free or low-cost since we weren’t working so she sent me pack there to get the paperwork. I went there and they were like oh you have to go to the next building over and they probably can help you I don’t even think there’s a form at all. I went there and it was a Doctors office so I told them what was going on and they gave me some paperwork and told me it would only cost $20 since I wasn’t working and a doctor was able to see me. 2 hours later it really was ear wax build-up but they had to use some contraption to get it out it was so bad. The build-up did cause a little bit of an infection and she gave me some anti-biotic that was FREE at Publix!! Was this take TMI for this blog? I’m not sure but eh weird stuff happens to me lol

#7: Ear aches are EVIL!!! I had one when Daniel was a baby that took two rounds of antibiotics and the one I had this summer took forever to heal.
They are! I thought tooth/mouth pain was pretty bad but this was also pretty bad. I’m thankful that right now i feel 100x better!
I am a little too excited about how many Pinterest boards you have! I have a feeling this is going to be a (un)productive day! Can’t wait to check out some Lenten meals. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Thanks! Every time I see something I want to save I put it on pinterest. I’m a super organized person so I have just created boards for just about everything and friends have added me to group boards..
I’ve been meaning to post my potato soup recipe, so I’ll have to do it for one of your Link-Ups!
My mom always tells the story of how she had to get a huge ball of earwax removed when she was a kid. Sounds painful! I use the drops once in a while in hopes that I never get a buildup like that! And yay for finding a good clinic. We had to take Lucia to a free clinic once and were so grateful it was there for us when we needed it (workers there helped us sign up for Medicaid too).
I love trying all kinds of soup! Excited to see your recipe!
Yeah I really hadn’t been having issues with ear wax until last week..weird. It actually wasn’t painful at all to get it removed but before then I could barely hear anything and just had a bad earache.
There is an actual free clinic I was afraid to go to b/c my sister went twice and they weren’t able to cure whatever she had 🙁 but this place seemed to be able to do what I needed done so I was grateful and now I’m in their system so it won’t be complicated to go back.
That is great that you could attend the Google hangout! I haven’t tried anything like that before. So fun to see the Church using new media 🙂
Did you change the layout of your blog? Maybe not, I am so used to reading in my phone. 🙂 Anyway, it looks great! I am going to check out your meal link up. Looks fun!
