I got a JOB!! It’s just a temp job scoring the Florida State Tests. It doesn’t start till March and is only for a few months but it is something. I’m hoping it gets me to 4th of July (when we’re supposed to go out-of-town) and when we get back it’ll be back to the drawing board. But we’ll see and it’s something even if it’s only for 2 months.
I’m hosting my first SPONSORED GIVEAWAY on the blog. There aren’t any other blogs participating so you’ll have a higher chance to win!! Steve from Pixievacations has donated a Disney Tote. You will even be able to have it monogrammed with either your first name or last name!! Look how cute it is:
The giveaway is going to be from February 26 – March 6th. In celebration of Disney’s Leap Day Celebration and my Birthday (which is March 6th)! I was almost a Leap Day Baby and we plan on going down to Disney on February 29th for the all night celebration at Magic Kingdom!
I am SOOO behind on blog posts and guest posts. If you are waiting on a guest post from me I apologize I am trying to get more organized but I just haven’t been able to balance it all. I really need to get better at turning social media and other distractions off! I think part of it is twitter/sm is my only source of friendship so I hate turning it off but at the same time I feel like I get absolutely NOTHING DONE! Maybe for Lent I will attempt to write all these guest posts and blog posts I’ve put off *Crosses Fingers*
My parish started the Catholicism series yesterday and about 100 people showed up! I thought that was pretty good considering they haven’t really done anything like it before. It was pretty good I took some notes and might blog about it. Since it’s a 10 week series I might blog about two weeks at a time since the first week didn’t seem to have a TON of information. I’m going to work on a post based on my notes over the weekend. Unfortunately it was all old people. I really have no clue how I’m ever going to get married…but that’s another story.
I’ve tried to brainstorm what to do on the blog for Lent and can’t come up with ANYTHING that is remotely interesting/fun/not a TON of work. So far I am DEFINITELY hosting a Lenten Meal Plan Monday Link-up! It is going to be every Monday starting on February 20th and ending on April 2nd. I will have a linky at the bottom of each post for you to share your own Lenten meals. Also feel free to post your own recipes or pinterest recipes you’ve found (i’m going to post a bit of both). Click here for a tutorial on how to share pinterest pins on your blog correctly to give credit to the right person. I also made this cute badge/icon/button you can use for the Link-up! Feel free to add it to your bog posts!
I’m thinking about creating an Online Couponing class/forum that people can go to for all sorts of tips on couponing. My mom is hosting an online book study during lent and is using a Wikispace and I was looking at it and thought it could be a good venue to host online couponing classes. We could also use a closed Facebook group with webinars. I’d like to eventually make it grow enough where I can charge everyone $5 for all the resources. So many people want to take classes but there aren’t always classes in their area or if you’re a parent it’s hard to get out of the house/find a sitter. Would anyone be interested in this?
Ella over at Conservamom is co-hosting a HUGE VALENTINE’S DAY GIVEAWAY from February 1 – 13 with a TON of awesome bloggers! Head over to her blog to see all the awesome prizes and enter the Rafflecopter giveaway!

Congratulations on the job! 100 people IS great for a church event like that. I heard that is an awesome series – I hope to be able to watch it someday!
As for getting married, I met my husband on Catholic Match and my brother-in-law met his fiance there as well. I wrote about it on my blog if you haven’t read it (it’s the tab on the top “Online Dating”. I would highly suggest it!

Congratulations on a job. If there is an upside to a temp position, it’s that it buys you some time and an income while searching for a more permanent job.
There with you on 3 and 4. Most young people leave my area and don’t come back after high school, so (1) anything my parish puts on is teeming with older people, and (2) Twitter communities are my way of “hanging out” with fellow young Catholics. I don’t think that’s a bad thing (unlike many old people I know), but it does pose challenges. Yay globalization!

Having a lenten meal plan linkup is a great idea ~ I look forward to joining in. I think they may be starting the Catholicism series at our parish as well, but aren’t advertising it as such. I’d go but I’d rather pray the rosary with a group at another parish on Wed. nights! Oh well, maybe they’ll let me check out the videos.

My husband and I just started watching that series too. The footage is amazing.
P.S. I’m a crazy cat lady too! 🙂
Awesome! I know after we watched the video the priest asked the group about their reactions and the first thing everyone said was that “they want to go there” and how gorgeous everyone was! Yay! For Crazy Cat Ladies! One of our cats got out and was MIA for a week a few months ago the other cat was so lonely 🙁
