Lent has started and so has my Lenten Meal Plan Link-Up! This weeks post is LIVE with 10+ recipes to choose from!
I hope you will check it out if you aren’t sure what to have for dinner tonight.
This jeep got iced and then was able to leave the parking lot and leave the ice behind! So cool! It literally looks like a piece of art!
Back in January FOCUS put on a conference for young adults called SEEK 2015. I really wanted to go but by the time I found out I didn’t have enough time to get the funds together. I was however able to enjoy the conference via the livestream and I purchased all the talks online.
I am slowly making my way through the 62 talks. So far my two favorite talks were given by Abby Johnson about Sidewalk Counseling and Audrey Assad about her personal testimony. They were both so awesome! I’ve heard of both of these people before but have never heard them speak.
In Abby’s talk she gave a lot of statistics about Planned Parenthood, abortions, and sidewalk counseling. One thing she mentioned was that when there are people praying outside the clinics they have a 70% no-show rate. I thought that was fascinating and just goes to show the power we have by praying.
In Audrey’s talk she shared about her porn addiction and how it all happenned and how she eventually recovered. I also loved how she shared about how as women it’s just that much harder because we feel more ashamed than men.
I just love with technology that I was able to listen to these talks without physically being there. I’d love to get a group together where we listen to them and discuss them. It’s my current brainstormed idea.
One thing I’m doing for Lent is I am doing the Praying In Color Calendars. I’ve been doing this for the last few Advents and Lents. This Lent I am going to use it to pray for a different person everyday of Lent.
Yesterday I was featured on a pretty big instagrams account with my #ashtag! I’m famous people! Thanks @Catholic_Imagery
I’m going on a Retreat tomorrow! A Catholic Speaker/Musican Chris Bray is leading it. He was here last month for another event but I was unable to make that event so glad he’s back! I’ll keep everyone in my prayers tomorrow 🙂
I finished school in June and after losing several temp jobs I fell into this Virtual Assistant job. After a few months I thought man this is a fun job. There are times it gets lonely because I work from home but making my own hours, the flexibility, and coworking offices make up for that.
The last few months several people have asked me more about my job, how I got into it, how I find clients, what I do, etc. So I’ve been thinking about writing a whole series on it over on my business site. As I write them I am going to either post excerpts over here guest post style or post about them in my quick takes so those interested can read them and I don’t clutter this fun/personal blog with work related things.
If there are any topics you’d like for me to cover let me know in the comments or email and I’ll be sure to cover them in the series.

Quick question–I watched many of the Focus SEEK talks online (which were awesome!) but didn’t see a way to purchase the others (e.g. Audrey Assad and Abbey Johnston). Is that still possible or was that only live? Do you have a link?

Hi there, I was your FMF neighbor, saw you visited me, and wanted to stop by your blog. I read this post rather than your “open” post. I’ve enjoyed getting to know you a big more through reading about your doings! Blessings on your Thursday.

Audrey also shares her testimony in Matt Fradd’s book, Delivered. I highly recommend it. There is one chapter by a Catholic psychologist about the science behind addiction, and it was incredibly detailed and well-written but not too complicated.
