I hope I don’t get any bad luck this weekend considering this is my 13th Volume of 7 Quick Takes! Just Kidding I’m not that superstitious 😉
I’ve been VERY involved in Facebook Groups this week. I’m in about 10 of them (probably more & a lot of them are about blogging) and trying to retain all the information I’m learning from the “experts” in the groups.” I really want to start posting more deals to monetize this blog and trying to research the best way to do that without losing readers/spamming the internet.
I have about 5 Guest Posts to write. Some of them I have had since BEFORE CHRISTMAS! I really want to have these posts all written by EASTER! One of my “lenten” goals is to TURN OFF all distractions and really focus on writing a lot of blog series/posts to schedule that I have been putting off. If your waiting on a Guest Post from me I apologize I’m TRYING!!
One of the reasons I want to get a lot of posts prescheduled during LENT is because on March 12th I start my temp job (YAY) and sometime between now and June 1 we are MOVING into a condo that is more affordable for our budget. Between packing, moving, and working I’m not sure how much time I will have to blog and we may not have internet for a week or so while we are in transition. (I hope we don’t move again for awhile I’m SOOOO SICK of moving every 1-3 years!!)
I found this blog about crazy/ridiculous/questionable things found on PINTEREST. It is pretty amusing for a good laugh. *Warning: not all the pins are family friendly so proceed with caution* Here is one of my favorites:

Milo is going to be super happy this week because Publix has his favorite cat food on sale! Whiskas Temptations Treats for Cats, 2.47 or 3 oz are BOGO. Which makes them 89¢ each then there are $1/2 Coupons in the 1/08 RP insert that make them $0.40 each. The 1/08 RP also has a BOGO coupon which then makes them ALL FREE!!
NEW ROMAN MISSAL FAIL – Back in November the New Roman Missal came into affect. How is everyone doing with the changes? Last weekend I was pleasantly surprised that most of the congregation got a majority of the responses right! This was really exciting to me as I wasn’t sure that we were EVER going to get a hang of the changes.
Back in November I purchased the Saint Joseph Sunday Missal to follow along with the Sunday readings and new mass parts. I have enjoyed using this missal during mass. My introvert ADD personality REALLY benefits well from being able to follow along in this missal not only for the readings but all the mass parts including the Eucharistic Prayers. Using this book has gone really well but the past few weeks I have gotten really frustrated with this part of the missal:
The New Roman Missal has a choice of TEN, YES 10 Eucharistic Prayers (I feel bad for the indecisive priests out there)! That wouldn’t be so bad especially because it tells you what page each prayer starts on and gives you the first line of the phrase. HOWEVER this becomes very difficult to know which Eucharistic Prayer is being said BECAUSE 8 of the 10 all start with a similar phrase. As you can see in the above photograph 3 of them begin with the phrase “You are indeed Holy, O Lord” and 4 of them begin with “You are indeed Holy and to be glorified.” Yes this is something dumb but it’s also kind of annoying. I hope in the 2012-2013 edition they update this issue 🙂
How is everyone doing with their New Years Resolutions/Goals? I’m doing good with most of them but some of them are just HARD to break. Like here we are Thursday evening and I still haven’t filed last weekends coupons. Heck I haven’t even opened the newspapers! Oh well I’m TRYING!

Emily @ Day in the Life says
1. I need to monetize my blog. Maybe I could make something to help.
2. Get those done, girl! I try to write mine ASAP so it’s not just lingering lol
7. I’m generally doing well. I tend to mess up once in a while, but I’m still going strong!

1. A lot of people say to sell stuff but I don’t make anything..
2. Yeah I know 2 of them are really “broad” topics so everytime I sit down to write I get overwhelmed with ideas and end up doing something else.
2.) Guest posts take me FOREVER to write. I’m a perfectionist and it ends up taking me a long time to get a sense of what I have to say.
6.) That is a seriously confusing missal.

That’s funny about the Eucharistic prayers… you should email and let them know that there needs to be a better way for next year lol. I have heard a lot of people say that the readings are meant to be heard, and not read, but I have always used a missal because it helps me pay attention. Otherwise, my mind wanders to the baby in front of me, the awesome dress of the lady across the aisle, or any random thing that catches my eye. I find I get so much more out of mass when I read along.
Awesome deal on the cat treats! Those are the fave of my cat as well, but we already have expired bags from stocking up before we discovered she throws up if we give her more than 2 per day lol.
I should! I’ve heard that too but I’m like you and get VERY distracted when I don’t follow along. Ha my cats are PIGS I mix the treats with their food like 5 and they eat them all up. Haven’t had any issues of them throwing up (yet).
I don’t think our parish is ever going to get the new changes down! We try, though! We certainly try!

Man I know! I think part of it was that it was the 5pm mass on super bowl sunday so the people there were really there for mass haha
I received a “New Roman Missal” as a Christmas gift and I love it but I have to agree with you on the flipping all over thing. I have to remind myself that it is more important to pay attention to what they are praying and not that I am on the exact right page. However, my OCD type personality usually won’t let me off that easily and I consider it a challenge to find the right page before the prayer is over!
ugh me 2! I did get this bookmark with ribbons to help me not flip as much but when ALL the prayers start the same it’s hard!!
