Well, I haven’t done this link-up since the logo was updated. I’m liking the new logo. Amazing how many logos this link-up has had since I started participating in 2011. Sometimes it’s hard to believe I’ve been blogging for almost 5 years!

The last time I posted my new favorite thing was Bullet Journaling. It’s still one of my favorite things right now. It’s supposed to make you more productive. I can’t decide if it has worked for me or not. Somedays I feel like I am just moving tasks from day to day to day and not accomplishing much. But other days I feel like I’m crossing everything off and getting things done.
There are quite a few tasks I still haven’t completed that I added when I started the journal in March. However, there are tasks that I have completed since starting that I’ve been trying to do since January or maybe even last year so maybe it is slowly working.
I at least feel like things are getting written down. So many times I felt like I had all these thoughts and things I wanted to do but couldn’t remember where I wrote them down. Now everything is written down in one place at least…vs sent out to outer space of the internet via asana or trello.
The favorite thing I have learned from this experience is collecting all the fancy pens, stickers and doing the monthly Doodle Challenges.

Yesterday I found this google drive spreadsheet I created with all these post ideas that I was going to write one day. I had outlined my blog into these 5 perfect little categories. I totally forgot about it.
I also found this disaster of a bunch of notes for all my categories I was trying to consolidate and rename. That is a project I never finished that I need to go back to finishing it.

Last month I FINALLY broke down and bought my name as a domain name. This domain is hosted on square space so I can test out that space and see how i like it as so many people talk about it. I also like that it’s really easy to have an online store to sell things there without extra plugins. There isn’t much up on the site yet but I plan on using it as a home base for all my virtual assistant work.

We have been hard at work on our summer plans. We went from not doing much this summer other than going to my cousin’s wedding to doing a few different things.
Because the airfare to go to my cousin’s wedding in June was like $500 round-trip we decided to fly into Philadelphia (about 4 hours away) and drive. We’re going to spend a few days in NY/NJ visit the cemetery (because I am morbid like that), go to the 911 Museum, and visit my mom’s sisters and my cousins. Then we’ll head up to upstate NY for the wedding. We ended up spending the same amount of money for 5 days vs 3 for a shorter trip into the more expensive airport…maybe even less we’ll see.
Then in August, we’re driving up to Ocean City, MD for a week family vacation. I’m hoping my boyfriend will be able to join us on this trip as well. All of my mom’s sisters and parts of their families are going as well. It’s going to be like old times as when I was a kid we all vacationed there almost every summer. I also haven’t been there in a good 20 years so it’ll be interesting to see what I remember, how things changed, and to #eatallthefood.

I’m actually looking forward to the road trip parts of these trips. We used to take road trips all the time as a kid and we haven’t done it in awhile. I’m also looking forward to a more laid back/relaxing vacation vs a go-go-go touristy vacation that my last few vacations have been.
We actually looked into flying to Ocean City but all the flights to get there were either 6 hours long and SUPER expensive or any other airport was a good 2-3 hour drive. As we added up all the costs and the time it was only an extra 4 hours for us to just drive. So we’ll see how it goes. I’m looking forward to our summer adventures.

This coming week I’m really looking forward to The Profitable Blogging Summit. A lot of the bloggers I follow are speaking about different topics. Even if you don’t want to make money blogging it’s going to have a lot of great tips on blogging in general. It’s FREE and totally online. Go sign up here!
Have a great weekend everyone! Visit Kelly for more Quick Takes!
Thanks for the scoop on the blogging summit! I’ve registered, too. 🙂
YES to ubiquitous capture! (That’s the fancy version of “write everything down.”) That was my first baby step into GTD, and it has changed my life.
I’m a Marylander, but we were never really Ocean City people. I also struggle with vacationing, so that might be a contributing factor.
