Your internet browsing experience is about to CHANGE FOREVER! My sister and her husband came over for dinner on Easter and my mom was having computer problems. He messed with it a bunch and installed, “Adblock Plus” on her computer. I put it on mine as well…it is a web browser extension and blocks ALL the ads including the popups…although I still had to watch the commercials on Hulu…since installing the plugin on Sunday it has blocked 5000 ADS!! Granted every time you log onto facebook it blocks about 20 ads at a time. It’s really nice not getting engagement ring ads anymore…
As I was preparing and doing some research for my upcoming pilgrimage (that makes my vacation sound fancy) I came across this quote by St. Augustine that was EXACTLY how I feel about traveling. I always find it amusing when I am on secular websites and see saints by Catholic Saints.
“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” – St. Augustine
In preparation for my trip I wrote a 5 Favorites post about movies that I have seen that have inspired me to travel to different cities. It was a fun post to write after I saw a similar one on a travel blog a few months ago.
It is now EASTER! I think the Easter season is my favorite time of year in the church. The music is HAPPY again, the church is decorated with beautiful Easter Lilly’s and the weather is starting to get nice again. Yes I know I live in Florida but contrary to what you see on movies and TV it isn’t 90 degrees and sunny 365 days a year.
I can’t remember if I have mentioned the website ReciteThis.com but it is a really cool website that will make quotes into images. I used it to make the St. Augustine quote into an image in QT#2. I made this quote bubble of something Pope Francis said during Lent.
And if you are looking for a way to make quote images on your phone or tablet I like the app, InstaQuote. I made this one using that app a few weeks ago after watching a movie about Pope John Paul XXIII. (great movie)
I had a really good Holy Week. I actually made it to all the Triduum masses/services except the Easter Vigil (I went Sunday morning instead) for the first time in several years….but it was like I was at the vigil because we confirmed 3 candidates into the church (they received communion for the first time too). I also got a front row seat since my mom was in charge of them and they had extra seats…perks.
*I thought it was funny that my iMissal app said Eucharistic Prayer undefined on Good Friday since we don’t say it that day.*
Have a great weekend! For more Quick Takes, visit Conversion Diary!
Very excited for your trip! Can’t wait to hear about it!
