STYLING: Sunday was my favorite saints feast day – St. Therese of Lisieux. She answers prayers by sending roses. Thanks to Blessed is She they posted this tutorial to make a flower crown that I am styling. Plus I was able to buy everything to make it at the dollar store. #BudgetWin
Also bought some Roses.
SAVING: MONEY?….for Christmas. I feel like money for this one is a copout for this one…but I opened YNAB (You Need A Budget) [my budgeting software yesterday and realized my Christmas budget is very underfunded! EEK! And Christmas is only 3 months away. #PANIC
SEARCHING: For my bookkeeping side business I’m currently creating a list of all the CPA’s and Restaurants in town to do a direct mailing. Talk about a PROJECT! Someone told me there are over 200 restaurants in this little tourist town I’m on a mission to see if they are right.
PICKING: OUT Halloween and Fall decor. I went to Michaels last weekend and got some cute pumpkin decor and Halloween Village decor. A few weeks ago I was at Ross and got some oven mitts and kitchen towels. The kitchen towels are awesome it’s a turkey saying, “Eat more beef!” And then I have a box outside in the shed I need to get out to finish decorating for Fall/Halloween this weekend.
MAKING: Painted Rocks. I found about this kindness project where people were painting rocks and then leaving them around town. I bought a HUGE bag of pebble rocks at Home Depot last month and then I started gathering paint and paint pens. Some of the paint pens I bought off amazon finally came last week so I’m going to work on painting more rocks this month.
RECAPPING: SEPTEMBER
- Hurricane Irma came through town. UGH. So many people had no power for almost 2 weeks! It was crazy. Including my place of work, it was rough.
- Thankfully we had no damage so it was pretty easy to bounce back to “normal.”
- We started a Young Adult Bible Study at my church and it’s been going well. My husband and I were asked to be on the core team and have been enjoying the planning of the events.
- We’ve started to go bowling again somewhat often and it’s been a fun thing to do to get out of the house and do and we’ve both been getting better.
Currently is hosted on the first Wednesday of each month by Anne of In Residence. This month’s guest co-host is Dana of Something Good.
Love the floral crown! And this rock painting idea too – I always enjoy a little creative project, and even better when it has such a good use.
I love your flower crown! I’m also in a panic that Christmas is so close! I haven’t even began to shop for it yet!
