Welcome to my first post in the Magical Blogorail Link-Up! I first found this blog a few years ago but it wasn’t set up as a link-up. It was a set of about 20 disney blogs that would blog about different topics each week or month. I loved the idea but since I wasn’t a Disney only blogger and just blogged about disney things whenever I went to the parks or read about something blogworthy. I just found out that they turned the program into a link-up so here I am and I’ll probably be linking up often (or at least I hope to).
Each week there is a different topic and as you can see from the title of this post it is Disney Weddings and Honeymoons. And for those that have been around this blog for awhile nooo nothing has changed…I’m still single and not engaged or any of that other fun stuff. Then why am I linking up to this topic? Because as some of my readers know my sister got married in March. My sister and her husband aren’t as big of disney fans as I am and didn’t get married at disney or have any disney themed things but I used her wedding as a test. You can send Minnie and Mickey wedding invitations and they’ll send you a Congratulations Card. So I took a few of our leftover invitations and sent them to a few “celebrities.”
I sent an invitation to Minnie and Mickey (in both California and Florida), Cinderella and Prince Charming, Ellen and the Obama’s. I can’t remember if I sent one to Oprah as well I don’t have a picture of hers. I might have ran out of stamps/invitations.
As you can see we got a Congratulations card from Minnie and Mickey. Now I didn’t pay attention to the postmark so I have no idea if Minnie and Mickey in CA or FL answered us but we only got one card back! We did not get anything from Cinderella though. The information I found online were just rumors that she’d send you a certificate of some kind but it never came and I never saw any photos of ones that people got either.
We sent Ellen one as a joke. I found her address on a website but never saw that she sent anything to you. The Obama’s did send us a congratulations card. I didn’t get a photo of that though. Someone joked that Oprah sends you a new car (ha don’t we wish!). This was a fun project to use some of the leftover invitations that probably would have ended up in the garbage or ruined. My sister let me keep the Congratulations card since she knows I love disney so I have it in my box of cards.
One day I’ll get married and do the same and get another one of my own. And maybe I’ll incorporate other Disney things into my wedding but until that time comes I have no idea what that will be.
We also did this for our wedding. We also only received cards from Mickey and Minnie and then President Bush.

Very cool! My friend is still mad Minnie and Mickey never sent her a card back! 🙁 I’ve read you can do the same thing when you have a baby too with birth announcements.
I am so glad you linked up! I had heard rumors about Mickey and Minnie sending something but this is the first time I’ve seen what they actually send. Very cool!

You’re welcome! It was a fun post to write…I’ve been meaning to write this post for awhile and kept forgetting so this link-up gave me the motivation to finally write it up. Yeah I wasn’t sure if we were going to get anything back but we did.
We got the certificate from Cinderella and Prince Charming back in 2012. Maybe they don’t send them anymore?! I’ll have to look for it and take a picture. We also got the Mickey postcard and a card from the Obamas. They make for really fun keepsakes for the cost of a postage stamp!

That is cool! Everyone did move not long after the wedding so if they sent it in March it probably got returned. But I agree they made really cool keepsakes for just the cost of a postage stamp!
