Welcome back to the #40LentPrompts link-up. Once again we have 6 prompts to choose from. Go here to Monday’s post to view this week’s writing prompts. Make sure to use the hashtag #40LentPrompts when you share your posts on social media.
This week the prompts weren’t so hard ha! I think I have a few blanks still in next weeks that I’ll be filling in with some more interesting prompts. Again if you have any ideas let me know!
13. Write a list of 10 (or more) blessings that God has given you this year.
- My Family
- My wonderful boyfriend
- A job that I LOVE
14. Write 12 lines on the word desert.
Jesus walked in the desert for 40 days.
The Desert is very hot.
Did Jesus get a sunburn while he was walking?
I always wonder about the day to day things that are left out of the bible like illnesses, rashes, sunburns, swimming days.
My pastor once had a professor that would tell his students that Mary had to change poopy diapers (yes Jesus pooped).
He’s right.
I think we sometimes “idolize” people in the bible like they didn’t do these gross things.
When Jesus was in the desert I bet he got a lot of pondering and thinking done.
So much time to just empty his brain of his thoughts.
There was no one bothering him.
No one to heal.
It was just him and his thoughts to talk to his father.
16. Share this week’s Lenten Meal
So last week we ended up going out to eat at a shrimp restaurant. We waited nearly an hour to eat which was an act of Lenten penance in itself. So for real this week I am for real going to make my Cheddar Broccolli Soup as I don’t want my ingredients to go bad.
Looking forward to reading everyone’s posts!
We both wrote something about the desert, but have very different reflections! That’s neat.
I never gave much thought to the day to day lives of the Biblical characters. You are inspiring me to think more along those lines.
Bless you, Beth Anne on your Lenten journey.
