So I am hosting an Advent Blog-Hop.
Along with my blogging friends that are writing daily about Advent it is also a link-up. So feel free to add your old and new advent posts! I’ve been sharing all the posts a few times on my facebook page and my twitter.
This week we had a lot of feast days that people wrote about including: Immaculate Conception, Feast of St. Juan Diego, and the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. I also really enjoyed Amanda’s post about how her take on Advent is Parenting. And Laura’s post from yesterday reminded me of a Christmas Eve homily I heard a few years ago 🙂
This TED talk about Online Dating Algorithms is FASCINATING! All the data! It’s long but it’s awesome!
Last weekend my mom and I took a little road trip down to Tampa. Arleen Spenceley wrote a book about Chastity for young adults (Chastity is for Lovers) and had a book launch party so we decided to go down there and support her and get some signed books. Her book is awesome and everyone needs to read it. I was hoping to get a post about this up this week but that didn’t happen.
We’ve actually been wanting to check out Busch Gardens for awhile so we headed there afterwards…and of course we indulged in Dim Sum as we can’t get it here. It was a fun weekend.
I loved this interview with Leah Darrow I read this week. My favorite parts were that she said Singleness isn’t a waiting room to sit in! Get out and live! And that she prayed for her husband a lot because she knew he would need it being stuck with her! (I often feel bad for my future husband when I think about my crazy family and my flaws).
I heard her a few months ago on The Catholic Guy show on SiriusXM Radio and she told this story about how she was at St. Agnes tomb and prayed to her to bring her her husband and basically told St. Agnes she’d name her first daughter after her…which she did when explaining her daughters “grandmother like name.”
Everyone needs to join Elizabeth’s new link-up, Weekend Without Words. It is such an easy and fun post/link-up I don’t want it to go away!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s the 2nd week of Advent and I finally got some of my Advent stuff out. I’ve started my Praying In Color Calendar.
I’ve also got my Jesse Tree up along with my purple “Advent lights” on it.YAY! Advent!
Now that Kelly is hosting 7QT I have the urge to be funny in my Quick Take writing because that is how she writes. People tend to think I’m a super serious person and when I come out with random things that are funny they are usually caught off guard. So uh we’ll see how this goes…as my life is pretty boring to begin with.
Have a great weekend everyone! Kelly is now hosting Quick Takes!
Thanks for the shout-out, friendly-face. Also, I love that you worry about your husband handling your family. I always worried that mine would be a little too weird, but it turns out that his family is weird, too.
