Today is MY MOM’S BIRTHDAY!! We are celebrating by going tubing down one of the Florida Springs tomorrow!! We have wanted to do this for over a year and never got to it last summer.
This week is NFP Awareness Week! Since I’m single I’ve been trying to soak up as much information as I can but sometimes it gets REALLY overwhelming when you have no idea what you are doing. I’m still very grateful for all my NFP-Pros that answer my questions. There have been a lot of great articles and posts posted out on the interwebs this week on the subject. I think it’s great that people are talking about it and helping to educate one another. I got this awesome facebook timeline graphic from A Living Sacrament
P.S. iUseNFP launched this week just in time for NFP Awareness week! Go check them out NOW!
I really am ready for Advent or something. I want to write about cool Catholic things but I am having a huge “Catholic” writers block. Advent and Lent last year really helped me find a lot of great stuff to blog about. I think I’m just having a serious spiritual dry spell. I think half my problem is I read all these other AWESOME Catholic Blogs that are 10x more articulate and spirital than I am and I think what can I offer that isn’t already out there?
It makes me think of this picture I found several months ago. Sometimes I think I’m not Catholic enough (especially in the blog world) and other times when I’m out in the world talking about Catholic things I feel like I’m TOOO CATHOLIC.
What is the WEIRDEST thing that you have done to save money? In my All You magazine there was an article about strange things people have done like buy a whole cow from a farm and split the meet among several familes for a year. Last week I did something that I’ve been doing for several years actually. I bought a years worth of movie tickets. By buying them in a pack of 50 I got 50% off the box office price. SCORE!! I LOVE going to the movies. I know there is a lot of stigma about it these days and a lot of people don’t really go but it is something I really enjoy going but hate having to spend $10+ a person to go. The other plus of this is that it is all prepaid now so it will feel like I’m going to the movies for FREE! WIN-WIN-WIN.
I was going through my Amazon.com “Wishlist” and found this awesome book I wanted about 2 years ago!
It is a book full of centerpieces for your table!! Yes I’m a nerd. I actually saw this in the giftshop of an art museum at the hefty price of $50 and thought I’m going to go home and buy it online for half the price. I was almost right. The book is currently $25 on amazon but I’ve yet to buy it 🙂
Last week Reviewers Retreat 2013 was announced! It is actually going to be very close to me. In Georgia, however I think it’s going to be the same week as our family vacation. I’m still waiting for Blissdom, Behold and Bloggy Boot Camp to announce their 2013 dates so I won’t decide on any conferences until everything gets announced.
So the day I get my wisdom teeth out my sisters friend from Texas is coming to visit. She doesn’t get in till 11pm that night and is flying into Orlando but still I’m not gonna be in a good mood (I’m assuming) so pray that I don’t kill anyone that weekend. And I’m letting Jen from :::Meditatio::: take over my blog again so you have been warned twice 🙂 just kidding I know she’ll post some awesome stuff!!
Have a great weekend! For more Quick Takes, visit Conversion Diary!
My weirdest thing (which to some people it hasn’t been that weird, and others have looked at me like I have two heads): washing and re-using ziploc bags! I don’t use them much, but when I do, I can’t stand to use the cheap ones. So I buy the more expensive ones and re-use them!
Where did you get the movie tickets from? That would make an awesome Christmas gift for my husband!

Yeah I have done that and it’s not weird to me but I can see how other people would find that strange.
I didn’t know you could buy movie tickets in bulk!!

Yes! It’s awesome different theatres offer different specials. I know a lot of the big brand theatres like AMC and Regal will offer deals often.
Ha! I was just thinking that it would be great if Advent came soon!
