Thank you to everyone that participated in the #AdventPhotoADay challenge. I think it was really successful and everyone that participated seemed to have a great time. My intentions were to pick one winner a week but right after the contest started we got Bed Bugs and I had limited internet access/I wasn’t using my own computer so that didn’t happen. I did go through all the photos and picked 6 winners on Monday before 2012 ended (I know I’m a rebel).
Congrats to Amanda, Bobbi, Karianna, Jen, Carolyn, Jamie. They each won a $5 Giftcard! Out of all the posted the most photo was Bobbi’s Winter Wonderland her son made of Flour:
I am planning on doing a contest similar for lent as well. I want to try and find a good way to save and archive all the photos before then to make a slideshow/collage. So I hope you will come back for #LentPhotoADay or some other cool hashtag I come up with.

I cannot believe I didn’t post Quick Takes the last few weeks. In all honestly I kept forgetting what day it was with these holidays in the middle of the week and I got way thrown off. On Saturday I’d realize I missed Friday. I’ve also just been real depressed and in a blah mood not in the mood to blog with nothing all that interesting going on. Some weeks I need to go get a life to write Quick Takes on LOL.

Now that I’m not working I was able to change one of my classes to a day class in the classroom instead of an online class. I’m hoping this will help keep my spirits up and get me out of the house. I’m also in the middle of applying for a Workforce scholarship for people who are job searching/laid off/not making a lot of money to get more training . It’s a long and complicated process but they need t weed out the lazy people (my moms words). I started to apply last fall but you have to go to school full-time and with my job I didn’t think I could manage full-time with school so now that I’m not working I can hopefully get the scholarship and go to school full-time and finish faster.
I’ve been working on my 12 Photos for 2012 for Dwija’s Link-up that I have seen going around twitter. I am really struggling though b/c the only interesting thing I did all year was go on weekend trips to Walt Disney World so I am trying to find other pictures so that I don’t have 12 photos of different Disney Adventures. I’m beginning to think more and more I need a life haha! Maybe I’ll do that this year since my Annual Pass expired 🙁
One thing I have noticed is it’s IMPOSSIBLE to get a life without spending money. Every group, event, get together, meetup that I have found includes going out to eat, to an event, or a concert which requires me to spend money and gas that I don’t really have. I guess I’ll either stay home or be that weird girl that doesn’t order anything. Blah.
This was the first year we actually scoured the stores for after christmas sales. We actually picked up a decent amount of items including tons of stuff to finally start our Christmas Village collection. We even got a bunch of potholders and hand towels (that we needed anyway) and my mom says she’s using them year round anyway hahaha. My sister said the only bad thing about After Christmas Shopping was that we now have to wait 300 days before we get to use all the stuff we bought.

Good luck with all your school stuff! I bought some after-Christmas items, too, and am itching to use them in 2013!
