Last weekend I attended our Eucharistic Congress and by the time I got home Sunday afternoon I was EXHAUSTED!! I did what homework I needed to do that was due by midnight, vegged out, watched the season premiere of Army Wives, and crashed. I didn’t even realize until about Wednesday that I forgot to write a new post for my Lenten Meal Plan Monday link-up. #LinkuphostFAIL. I’m thinking for the rest of lent spotlighting participants that have linked up. I’m so appreciative of everyone that has participated I thought it would be a nice way to give back in my own weird blogger way.

I want to thank everyone that has been participating in my #40DaysOfPhotos lenten challenge! I’ve kind of slacked off myself the last few weeks. First I got sick and then I went out of town for the weekend and then I admit I got lazy. I kept losing track of what day it was. Next year I need to label the dates or something. I also think my other problem is that when I’m out and about my service is just okay and instagram hardly ever works unless I’m connected to wifi. So I’ll take the pics and then I forget to upload them to instagram or twitter or anywhere when I get home. I need to try and end Lent strong! So everyone if you haven’t participated since the beginning or at all start now! Holy week has some really fun photos to take especially if you participate in any of the Triduum services 🙂

Last weekend and in QT 1 I mentioned how last weekend we had a Eucharistic Congress. It was so awesome. I want to write a post about it but haven’t gotten around to putting my thoughts into words yet. If you ever get a chance to attend one do it. I know there is a HUGE ones in Atlanta and Chicago. I’d really love to go to Atlanta’s someday as over 30,000 people attend. Ours had about 4000 people. One thing that is really nice about this years was they had a Young Adult Track, Teen Track, Children’s Track, and Adult Track. So everyone was included. We even made the local newspaper. You can read the article here.

A few weeks ago I had 2 interviews for a part-time job. Well I got the job and started Tuesday. So far I like it. I love that it’s in the field I really want to work in! Starting new jobs are kind of overwhelming sometimes. The people training me have everything memorized basically and I’m feverishly trying to write all the different steps down. But it’s nice to be working again and have a reason to get dressed and leave the house even if it’s only twice a week.
This weekend we are having our Confirmation Retreat. We do a joint retreat with several other area parishes and it’s over 100 kids this year. And I’m giving a talk and only slightly freaked out. I’m still trying to put my thoughts together on what I am going to say. My talk is about community and using your gifts in your community. I’m looking for a good reflection song on that topic as well. I used to use Casting Crowns ~ We Are the Body a lot but I always like to search new songs. So pray that I don’t totally freak out and am able to proclaim what the kids need to hear and that I’m able to explain my activity well so EVERYONE understands it!

Yesterday I finally finished off paying a credit card I’ve been working on paying off since 2006! I was so excited to finally get rid of it! Slowly I’m getting rid of all the non student loan debt. I only have 1 or 2 other bills from when I was unemployed left that I’m hoping to get rid of in the next few months.
Anyone that knows me knows I LOVE PEEPS!! I know most people think they are gross but somehow I don’t but I also like marshmallows and smores and marshmallow fluff. Man all the skeletons are coming out in this take. I found this awesome Conclave Meme using Peeps so cute!
Have a great weekend! For more Quick Takes, visit Jen at Conversion Diary!
Congrats on the new job! I’m so happy to hear it!
Congrats on the job! I saw images of the little cardinal peeps too this week and thought they were adorable. I hope you have a great weekend!
Prayers for you and for your “kids” for the Confirmation retreat. Congrats on the job.
#7 is funny! I’ve poked around on the Lenten meals and although I haven’t contributed I want to thank you for doing it–it’s such a great idea. And even better for there only being one linkup for the entire season, so we only have to go one place for inspiration. I’ve pulled down some recipes and tried one so far.
Congrats on your job! I hope it continues to be something great for you.
