My #40DaysOfPhotos. photo challenge is going really well so far. I’ve really been slacking the last few days but It’s Day 15 but don’t worry you can jump in and out as you can and you won’t get beheaded for missing a day. For the instructions go here to read more about the rules and instructions of how to participate. And leave a comment if you have any questions! I can’t wait to see everyones photos as we experience Lent together. As the days go I am pinning all the photos to a pinterest board. It’s really neat to see them all compiled.

On Tuesday I wrote a guest post for It’s Just Called Spicy as part of her #40DaysOfSaints series. I wrote a post about Glogster and St. Therese of Lisieux. Go check it out and check out the other saints people have written about.

My birthday was on Wednesday!! This year I got TONS of free stuff. I got free lunch at Firehouse Subs and a free dinner at a local Japanese Restaurant. It was sooo yummy plus since it was late at night we got our own table/show. Go here to sign up for free stuff on your birthday!! Plus I got this Cake Boss cake from BJ’s and OMG it was sooooooo good!!
On Tuesday night I went to the last segment of Theology on Tap for the Spring and it was about being Missionaries. The Deacon that spoke showed some clips from a movie called, “I Would Be Called John.” It’s a one man show about Pope John XXIII. We’re trying to track down a copy of it so we can see the whole thing. Several of the clips he showed were very funny. My favorite was, “They ask me Pope how many people work at the vatican? I tell them…about half of them!” HAHAHAHA. So far we’ve only been able to find a VHS version of this movie and we don’t have a VCR.

Tonight and Tomorrow is our Eucharistic Congress. This year it’s supposed to be HUGE. They are expecting over 4000 people to attend. Tonight is the young adult portion with Matt Maher and a bunch of other awesome speakers and tomorrow they are having children, teen, and adult tracks. Then there is a Matt Maher concert in the evening. I’ll be helping out in the Children’s Track and with the Bishops Bowl competition grading papers. It should be fun. I’m really looking forward to the Young Adult Track tonight. It will end with Benediction and they will have adoration all night until mass tomorrow morning and then they will have adoration in the afternoon. I always think it’s cool when they have adoration in the background of retreats and conferences.
I have a confession to make. I am a Chinese food SNOB. I especially love a type of chinese food called Dim Sum. Last month while I was browsing restaurants on Yelp! I found a restaurant that has “Dim Sum Sundays.” Of course last month when I found it the Sunday had JUST passed. This Sunday is the Dim Sum Sunday so we are going to eat there on our way home from the Eucharistic Congress. I’m really looking forward to trying it out and hoping it’s good because I usually have to drive down to Orlando to get good Chinese food.
Have a great weekend! For more Quick Takes, visit Jen at Conversion Diary!
Great Post!
That congress sounds amazing! We have something similar here, but it isn’t nearly that big yet. Hope you have a blast!
I’m thinking I want to get a Matt Maher album for my oldest for a birthday gift. Or maybe for a First Communion gift…
That cake is a near occasion of sin, I’ll have you know. 🙂 And I’ve opened the food link…can’;t wait to peruse…when I’m not supposed to be cleaning floors in preparation for the NFP volunteers’ potluck at my house in, uh, 3 hours!
Happy birthday! You have a very pretty blog. I’m a font snob and your fonts are great!
Pope John XXIII cracks me up! Seems like he was a hilarious man.
Happy belated birthday! I have to sign up for all those birthday freebies!
I also got a free Firehouse sub on my birthday last year! Gotta love freebies. Enjoy your Chinese food!
