I made it back for another Currently Link-Up! I didn’t realize that the 5 topics you blog about change every month so that is something fun to look forward to. I made this fun little graphic in canva for this month.
Reading: I recently joined a Catholic Women’s Book Club. I contacted the person in charge at the perfect time because they had just finished a book. We are currently reading Pope Francis’ Joy of Love so far it’s really good but you can only read a few pages at a time because there is just so much good information there.
I am also reading Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. I’m not that far into it and wasn’t sure I’d like reading a play but it makes for a fast read. It would be cool to go see it in person.
Trying: To not overanalyze everything and let all the wedding details stress me out. Trust me that is easier said than done. The more that I think about it it’s not really stress…it’s more I have all these thoughts and things in my head and I can’t turn my brain off.
Hoping: I know I’m in Florida but being able to take evening walks without being totally miserable would be nice. I’m also hoping to knock off a few weather things this week. I have appointments for NFP Classes, Engagement Photos, and Flowers this week.
Decorating: HA my DECORATING is the same as last months CREATING. I’m in the middle of switching to a new Bullet Journal. I am also decorating it with stickers, stamps, and pretty pens. There is a local ink-stamp store that is closing (they are retiring) and everything is 50% off so I will be headed there this weekend to find some new stamps.
Funny story I posted about it on facebook and my sister told me she wanted to go. I didn’t know she was into stamps and she said for 50% off I could be! LOL
To-Do Listing: Like I said in Decorating I am working on setting up a new Bullet Journal. One of the things I’ve been doing is going through and moving over some of my older to-do lists. I am trying to make sure I’ve actually done all the tasks I have written down and if I haven’t I’m writing them down in a new list. I’m also prepping for Write 31 Days in October because I’m insane and always have to try and blog that challenge.
Recapping: August
- I made several doctor appointments I’ve been avoiding.
- My pastor and the priest marrying us went on sabbatical to Rome. So we are getting many prayers!
- That is really all that is going on with me. I feel super busy and not busy all at the same time.
Currently is hosted on the first Wednesday of each month by Anne of In Residence. This month’s guest co-host isBeth of The Beth Next Door.Won’t you join us?
When are you getting married? I know how hard it is to analyze every last thing! I’ve been considering trying the bullet journal concept, I’m waiting to start in January I think.
And PS, I’m also a Beth Ann, just without an E! 🙂
Oh how fun! Beth Anne’s are a rare bread. I’m actually Elizabeth Anne but have always gone by Beth Anne b/c my DAD HATED the nickname Lizzie so he nicknamed me Beth Anne before anyone else could. lol
I’m getting married on April 22nd. The weekend after Easter :). It seems far away but I know it’ll be here before we know it. January is a good time to start Bullet Journaling but you can start whenever I started in March. I practiced in a cheap journal for a few weeks.
I like your graphic! I am not interested in customizing one for each month, although a lot of the other linkers-up do.
For all the stuff swimming around in your brain, have you ever tried GTD? I find it invaluable for the first step, which is to capture everything that’s on your mind and write it all down. I write down everything from “put some more toilet paper in the bathroom” (we don’t have much bathroom storage space, and I can’t always do it right when I notice the need) to “read 4 non-religious nonfiction books per year.” I used to think I was a forgetful person or had too much on my mind. Not anymore! I’ve even successfully convinced people who aren’t into GTD (like Mr. Man) to start capturing. It’s so freeing! As David Allen says, “Brains are for having ideas, not holding them.”
Yeah I made a simple graphic last month but I put the month on it so I had to make a new one and was feeling more creative. It gets time consuming making graphics though.
I am not doing GTD but I do use the bullet journal system and have thought about looking into incorporating GTD stuff into it that I know many people do. I know a lot of people do “brain dumps” at the end of the week which I think I need to start doing.
I remember I had this boss that talked about if you write something down (with actual pen and paper) you have a 150% chance of it actually getting done vs if you just think about it in your brain and I really think there is some truth to that.
