We are almost there!!!! We’ve made it to Day 6!!
The last few months I have really gotten into Podcasts. I’m not really sure what started it..it kind of just happenned. My new car has bluetooth and makes it really easy to listen to them in the car and then I started listening at work and it’s made the day go faster. Right now I subscribe to 14 podcasts. A lot of these aren’t updated regularly and I don’t always listen to all the episodes if I’m not interested in the topic. There are three topics of podcasts I currently listen to: Catholic, Blogging, Finance and Entertainment Podcasts.
Catholic Podcasts
The Catholic Guy Show – This podcast is just HILARIOUS but then it discusses some serious Catholic topics. This is a daily show on SiriusXM radio they take the best of the week and make it into a podcast.
Catholic Weekend – A lot of my twitter followers kept talking about this podcast so I decided to listen. I really like the format of this show and the banter between the 4-6 co-hosts and guests on the show. It’s always fast moving and never boring. They’ve had a ton of interesting guests on the show that I never would have known about otherwise.
The Catholics Next Door – I haven’t been listening to this one very long but so far I really like it. Greg and Jennifer Willits host this show and they just talk about everyday things but they always include their faith in it. I love hearing how every day people live out their faith in the mundane everyday.
Catholic In A Smalltown – I haven’t been listening to this one that long either. But this podcast is really fun to listen to. They talk a lot about entertainment and movies that I like hearing about.
Blogging Podcasts
The Bess Auer Podcast – I just started listening to this one as well. She is the host of the FLBlogCon conference that I am attending in September so I decided to start listening to her podcast to hear about any upcoming news about the conference.
The Money Pillow Podcast – [This podcast can really go in the blogging category because he interviews a lot of bloggers or in the Finance category because he interviews business owners as well.] This podcast is FASCINATING! Sean interviews bloggers, business owners, and other entrepreneurs that have found ways to make money in odd ways…and most of them make money in their sleep via the internet and online ads. I dream of days this could be me so it’s really motivating to listen to these interviews.
How They Blog – This podcast is geared to helping women become better bloggers. Kat has had a ton of awesome interviews and guests on her show that have had some really inspiring stories in their blogging journeys. I really enjoy her tips and ideas to help me be a better blogger.
The Dollars and Roses Podcast – This is a blogging podcast done by a married couple and they have really great chemistry on their show bantering back and forth. They’ve done some interviews and covered a variety of different topics that I’ve enjoyed learning more about. They also do monthly income reports of where there income comes from which can be helpful to get ideas of growing your blog and figuring out where to try and start making income.
Finance Podcast
You Need A Budget (YNAB) – This is the podcast from the budgeting software I use. What I like about this podcast is he keeps his thoughts simple and to the point (like his software) and a lot of them are less than 10 minutes long.
The Dough Roller Podcast – Several people in the YNAB forum recommended this podcast. A lot of his material is about investing but he has several episodes about debt, budgeting, guests, and other important topics. In January he posted 31 podcasts for the new year and there was a lot of good material in those 31 days that I highly recommend.
The Suze Orman Show – This is just the audio feed of Suze’s weekly cable show. So if you don’t have cable or miss her show you can listen to it via her podcast.
Entertainment Podcasts
TV Rewind – I LOVE TV but most people I know don’t really watch TV or watch the same shows I watch. I found this podcast via twitter last summer and Stephanie talks about a lot of the same shows I watch and it’s fun to listen to someone else talk about my shows except the voice inside my head.
TV Talk-How I Met Your Mother – I found this TV Talk app last fall and I haven’t used it a lot but I do find the commentary for HIMYM really interesting. I’m not sure why I only listen to the commentary on this show though.
This is Reality with Jason and Molly Mesnick – This is a SUPER guilty pleasure and glad it’s the weekend and not a lot of people will even read this post! HA! Back when Jason and Molly were on The Bachelor/ette I was somewhat obsessed with the show. I heard they had a podcast while reading spoilers for this season so I started to listen and they are really funny. I don’t even like watching much reality TV but I like to skim what happens on realitysteve.com because I’m nosy and takes up less time.
Wow, thank you, Beth Anne! I’m honored to be included! 🙂

I haven’t listened to “Catholic in a Small Town” in ages. If you like them, check out SQPN because they have a billion of them.
I think the two I listen to most are “Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me” and “On Being”.

I think that is where I found them. I like a bunch of SQPN’s podcasts 🙂
I have never done podcasts, but this makes me want to, there is nothing good on talk radio! do you have to go to each website and download them, or is there app or something that makes it all easier? Thanks!!

I never got into them until a few months ago when I realized there were apps for them! I just use the “Podcasts” app on my iphone but there are several other apps out there depending on what kind of phone you have.
