Today is my Mommy’s Birthday! I will not reveal how old she is but I’m in my late twenties and she was in her late late twenties when she had me so you can try and do the math 😉 or she can be like my Grandma and be 21 again!
To celebrate her birthday we are going to climb up to the top of the Light House,
and visit the Aquarium.
We may even hit up the beach depending on the weather and the time.
Now that you all know how to stalk me tomorrow let’s get serious.
My mom is AWESOME!!
She is the strongest woman I know and I don’t think I could have done some of the things she’s had to do in her life. She’s my rock and I couldn’t survive without her.
At the young age of 35 my mother became a widow..with two young children (5 and 8) left to raise. She was strong for her children and managed to raise two young girls on her own, go back to school and received a bachelors and masters degrees (over about 10 years). She taught her children about the Catholic faith, to be kind to others, and respectful of their elders.
I look back on my childhood from where we are now and sometimes we think we should have done things differently but at the same time I don’t think my childhood was that bad. She did her best to allow us to have as normal as a childhood as we could after dealing with such a tragic event at the ages of 5 and 8.
I’m thankful for the childhood I had and for the loving mother that she is.
I’m thankful that she is real and honest with us, listens to us, is a shoulder to cry on and recieve advice from.
I consider her one of my best friends, mentor, and role-model.
Without her I don’t know where I would be in life but I know it would not be complete.
Happy Birthday Mom! I hope you have a great day and enjoy our gifts and company and know that I love you!
happy birthday to your mommy!
